Blue Island Ave. by Ashland & Cermak
Tacos y Tamales Festival will take place at a new, larger location in 2025! After a decade of growing popularity, the event’s new home is on Blue Island Ave. southwest of Ashland & Cermak. The street will be closed from Wolcott to Ashland with multiple entry points.
This location is easy to access via public transportation, just off the Pink Line at either the 18th or Damen stops.
There are also multiple bus routes near the cross streets, including:
- 9 – Ashland
- X9 – Ashland Express
- 21 – Cermak
- 50 – Damen
- 60 – Blue Island/26th

SUGGESTED DONATION
The Tacos y Tamales Festival aims to give back to the community as a portion of proceeds will benefit the local Pilsen Arts & Community House, Frida Kahlo Community Group.
The Festival is FREE to attend, however there is a $10 Suggested Donation (at the gates) benefiting these great causes.
Patrons may show support and Donate Early (starting at $7); which is the only way to use a Credit or Debit Card to enter the festival by donation. Simply show your donation confirmation (whether printed or on your smart phone), and enter with ease!
