South Peoria St & West 16th St

Tacos y Tamales Festival takes place against the backdrop of the iconic 16th Street murals. Local, as well as, national and international artists have made the journey to display their works on these walls, giving each painting their own unique story. The giant artworks make for a vibrant background perfect for this event. Tacos y Tamales Festival aims to raise money for the preservation and promotion of these cultural landmarks.

Accessibility to the event is easy with a handful of ways you can get to the festival, including various modes of public transportation. The BNSF Metra, leaving outbound from Union Station has a stop at Halsted Street that is a 3-minute walk from the entrance of the event. Additionally, you can take the 8, 18, or 16 bus and get off at S Halsted and W 16th into a short 2-minute walk to the festival. Additionally, the festival is one mile from the 18th St Pink Line Station and accessible for ride-share pick-up and drop-off.
