Tacos y Tamales Festival aims to give back to the community as a portion of proceeds will benefit the local Pilsen Arts & Community House and Frida Community Organization.
The festival is free to attend, however, there is a suggested donation benefiting these great causes. Guests may show support and donate early, which is the most convenient way to use a credit or debit card to enter the festival by donation.

Honoring Marcela Herrera
Marcela Herrera, a beloved member of the Green Curtain Events family, was tragically struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run, and lost her life in July 2025 while walking to dinner with her fiancé after working Tacos y Tamales. One year later, her case remains unsolved. Her family is still searching for answers.
Marcela was a light in every room she entered. Her kindness, contagious laughter, unwavering dedication, and love for her community left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
To continue their search for justice, her family has established a GoFundMe. Every donation goes directly toward supporting their ongoing efforts to keep her case in the public eye, organize marches and memorials, raise awareness, and continue seeking answers that have yet to come.
If Marcela’s story has moved you, we humbly ask that you consider donating. No contribution is too small, and every act of support helps keep her memory alive and her family’s pursuit of justice moving forward. Thank you for standing with Marcela, her family, and our community.
