About Tacos y Tamales Festival

Modeled after a traditional Tianguis market, Tacos y Tamales Festival celebrates Chicago’s rich Hispanic & Latin cultures with three days of endless authentic food options, street cantinas, live music, dance performances, a variety of vendors, art, and more.

The fest is free to enter, however, there is a suggested donation at the gate benefiting local community organizations in Pilsen.

Pilsen is an authentic and vibrant neighborhood on Chicago’s Lower West Side rich in Latino culture. It’s home to legendary music venues and award-winning restaurants and bars. Located only a few short minutes from the city center via public transportation, this working-class neighborhood is also steeped in a rich history of art and architecture, and is the proud home to a community that is fiercely proud of where it comes from. Tacos y Tamales Festival aims to give back to the community of our gracious hosts, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Pilsen community groups as well as preservation projects inhabiting Pilsen’s everyday lifestyle.

Enjoy a wide selection of tacos and tamales from various Latin American regions, handmade tortillas, and dishes by authentic Mexican chefs. Experience local art installations, merchant vendors, and a dynamic lineup of Latin music and dance. Don’t miss our beer garden featuring Modelo products and arts & entertainment. A suggested donation benefits Pilsen’s community organizations. Pets are allowed but not encouraged due to the bustling environment. Join us for an unforgettable cultural celebration!

The Tacos y Tamales Festival aims to give back to the community as a portion of proceeds will benefit the local Pilsen Arts & Community House and Frida Community Organization.

The Festival is free to attend, however there is a Suggested Donation benefiting these local causes.
