The annual Tacos y Tamales Festival is a celebration of all the best and most authentic Latin cuisine Chicago has to offer. This year at Tacos y Tamales Fest you can expect:
- Mouthwatering tacos and tamales from various regions of Latin America
- Handmade tortillas
- Set against the backdrop of beautiful local art installations
- Incredible arts & entertainment featuring the best Latin music and dance performances.
- Local Merchant Vendors
- A vibrant block party atmosphere with the perfect marriage of sights, smells, tastes, and smiles.
- Beer Garden featuring Modelo brand products
- Pets are allowed, but as this is a high-traffic event, it is not encouraged.
This event has a suggested donation benefitting local community organizations in Pilsen.
Pilsen is an authentic and vibrant neighborhood on Chicago’s Lower West Side rich in Latino culture. It’s home to legendary music venues and award-winning restaurants and bars. Located only a few short minutes from the city center via public transportation, this working-class neighborhood is also steeped in a rich history of art and architecture and is the proud home to a community that is fiercely proud of where it comes from. The Tacos y Tamales Festival aims to give back to the community of our gracious hosts; as a portion of the proceeds will benefit Pilsen community groups as well as preservation projects inhabiting Pilsen’s everyday lifestyle.
SUGGESTED DONATION
The Tacos y Tamales Festival aims to give back to the community as a portion of proceeds will benefit the local Pilsen Arts & Community House, Frida Kahlo Community Group, and Opportunities For All.
The Festival is FREE to attend, however there is a $10 Suggested Donation (at the gates) benefiting these great causes.
Patrons may show support and Donate Early (starting at $7); which is the only way to use a Credit or Debit Card to enter the festival by donation. Simply show your donation confirmation (whether printed or on your smart phone), and enter with ease!
